SAILFOOD
Fresh, and full of nutrients.
As easy to make as a cup of Tea.
Prepare your own gourmet.
From the best, controlled, organic sources
Yoghurt, eggs, curd, cheese, etc to be added with your meal.
We almost never have enough electricity or freezer space available on board. In Tropical areas vegetables and fruits will go rotten in a week, meats in the fridge take little longer. For larger crews and racing teams, the weight of the food might be problem as well.
Having our products on board you have always fresh food supplies available.
We all know it is tough to prepare proper food while taking high seas.
We have solved this problem.
Now all you have to do is boil some water and pour it into a pouch. Nothing more complicated than making a cup of Tea.
Our recipes are composed by the top chefs around the Europe to provide great variety. And everything tastes like it's just made. Even more - all nutrients and vitamins of the fresh food are intact. Eat healthy and eat well.
Addition to our prepared meals. We also offer raw vegetables, and meats (pork, lamb and veal) which can all be stored at room temperature in your cabin for years. This strategic stock ensures you always have fresh backup available for your own cooking ideas.
Our technology is similar to what NASA and ESA are using to provide food for their Astronauts.
Fresh food is frozen at the extreme vacuum to remove any moisture and oxygen, while keeping the foods structure and nutrients. Prepared products will be packed into double sealed pouches where the (now about 70% lighter) food stays fresh for up to 25 years. When needed - just add water. Water will be absorbed back into the product original cellular structure, and food can be prepared or enjoyed the same way it was before processing.
We start shipping in October 2018. If you would like the be noticed, and get an early bird discount code - leave your email address here!
Sailfood has been working together with single hand circumnavigator UKU RANDMAA to great best possible recipes. Together we have provided UKU with 350 day's worth of gourmet food. All these foods are developed to provide good taste, variety and right amount of nutrients during the most challenging race in the world. Golden Globe Race, where sailors circumnavigate southern globe alone, non-stop, and without any modern navigational aid. As they can't stop nowhere, they have to take all the food, water, and supplies with them for at least 350 days.
Uku Randmaa began sailing at the age of 3 aboard his father’s yacht, then graduated through the junior ranks sailing Optimist, Cadet, OK, Laser and 420 dinghy classes. After leaving Tallinn Marine University with a Master’s ticket in 1984, he got back to competing in regattas at a serious level, then graduated to offshore sailing with his Hanse 430 yacht Temptation, completing a solo voyage to Iceland and back prior to sailing solo around the world with stops between 2011 and 2012.
Uku says of the GGR: “This is a dream event – a round the world race for real gladiators. For me, the best is to take part; the worst – not to finish. If I’m not going to win, then simply finishing will fulfil my dreams.”
